Stop Hunger Trust Fund in India fortifies its mission to act locally and sustainably for a hunger-free nation

  • Initiates partnership with WFP Trust for India to tackle malnutrition in Odisha
  • Focus on education, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability among other strategic priorities
  • Targets 34% reduction in carbon footprint by 2025

Mumbai, January 30, 2023 – Making responsible progression towards achieving its corporate responsibility goals, world leader in quality of life services, Sodexo in India has strengthened its partner ecosystem by joining hands with foremost Indian NGOs in the food space, to eradicate hunger and food insecurity, educate and empower women, and reduce the carbon footprint, thus propelling the world towards a better tomorrow. STOP Hunger Trust Fund in India deepened ties with existing partners Sulabh International, India Food Banking Network (IFBN) and Dyansadhana Education Society, and further onboarded a new partner - WFP Trust for India in a symbolic MoU exchange ceremony hosted in the company’s corporate headquarters in Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Sambit Sahu, Managing Director, Sodexo India, said, “As a responsible business, we are committed to fostering community growth and nurturing the environment where we operate and grow. Our efforts have always been to reach out to the hungry and malnourished and to the weaker sections of society. By promoting the education of girl child and ensuring prosperity of women, while keeping an eye on the sustainability factor, we can together progress towards a better tomorrow.”

STOP Hunger is working towards eradication of hunger and women empowerment over the past few years. With relevant actions implemented alongside strong local NGO partners, Stop Hunger global has been supporting key developmental projects worth INR 20 million in India. By 2025, we aim to positively impact the lives of 20,000 beneficiaries through the varied CR projects.
